Blue  Bird Information

So Lisa - why do you like blue birds so much?

Yes, I love blue birds they are such neat birds and very family oriented.

I always wanted to have blue birds around so I put up some houses.

Everyone said, "Oh you won't get some the first year so don't get disappointed", but sure enough I had a pair raise two broods that year!!

This year has been harder as the sparrows and swallows want housing, so I up even more boxes.  Finally the same pair (I think) have decided on a box near our back porch, so it will be fun watching them.  They can raise up to 3 broods a summer!  Sometimes the fledglings from the previous brood will help feed the new brood. 

Now that impresses me, I don't know if other birds are like that or not.  So I feel that Blue birds have been a lucky symbol for me, so that is where the name came from.  To me it has been one of the best things about moving to Indiana.  We never had them much in Michigan.
